The craft

Built like the estates it lives inside.

Most garage coatings are a rolled-on afterthought — a paint kit from a hardware store, or an epoxy that yellows and chips before its fifth winter. That is not what we do.

LYON is a two-coat polyaspartic system installed by a small crew who prep the slab to CSP 2–3 with diamond grind, broadcast quarter-inch flake to rejection, and finish with a UV-stable topcoat rated at 3,400 psi tensile strength and 500 psi pull-off adhesion — meaning the concrete underneath fails before the coating does. That is the whole promise, printed on the manufacturer's own data sheet.

The five-step process

    Site inspection

    Slab moisture, temperature, and dew point read on-site. We tell you before we quote whether the slab is ready — or what it needs first.

  2. 02

    Diamond grind

    The slab is ground to CSP 2–3 with dust-controlled HEPA equipment. Every crack, chip, and pit filled and repaired before a drop of coating is mixed.

  3. 03

    Polyaspartic base

    Hand-rolled and troweled at manufacturer spread rates. The base holds the flake and bonds directly to the concrete — no primer needed on a dry slab.

  4. 04

    Broadcast flake

    Quarter-inch vinyl flake broadcast to rejection into the wet base. The excess is scraped, vacuumed, and re-used on the next job.

  5. 05

    UV-stable topcoat

    A second polyaspartic layer seals the floor. Foot-traffic in 6 hours. Vehicles in 24. Signed warranty in your inbox before we leave.

The warranty

Lifetime. Transferable. In writing.

Most concrete-coating companies do not survive long enough to honor a “lifetime” promise. We built LYON to. Every floor we install is backed by a lifetime warranty for the original owner, and a 15-year transferable warranty for the next.

The warranty covers chipping, peeling, and delamination — the failure modes that plague epoxy coatings and rolled-on kits. Because our floors don't do that. And when we write “lifetime” on the paper we hand you, we mean it will still be honored in 2050 by a family business that is still here.

Why not just buy a DIY epoxy kit from the hardware store?

Because it isn't paint. Every floor requires a slab moisture test, a diamond grind to CSP 2–3, and a two-coat polyaspartic system installed inside a narrow temperature and dew-point window. A DIY kit skips all four. Most lift within two winters.

How long does the install take?

One day for most residential garages. Ground on Monday, walked on Monday night, driven on Tuesday. Larger commercial spaces may require two.

Do you install in the winter?

Yes. Our polyaspartic system installs on slabs as cold as 32°F, provided the four go/no-go gates (slab temp, humidity, moisture, and dew point) pass. Traditional epoxy needs 50°F minimum and stops working from November through March.

Is the warranty really transferable?

Yes. Lifetime for the original owner, 15 years transferable to the next. In writing, delivered before we leave the job.

What does a typical garage cost?

A standard two-car garage (about 484 sq ft) starts at $4,114. Larger, shaped, or premium metallic finishes are quoted after a free on-site inspection. Our minimum job is $2,800.
